Instead of being grammatically correct and being properly formatted, blog posts are a piece of art. They are created not only to inform, but with the intention of enticing a reader and the goal of keeping them reading until the end (and then hopefully converting to an email subscriber or new follower).
I wasn’t seeing this sales page in the same way as writing emails or blog posts. See in those, I was doing everything I could to connect. But here, writing my sales page, I was trying to get people to spend money. On something that I created. And a part of me was holding back because I didn’t believe that I deserved to be bought from. I didn’t think that I or my products were worth having people spend money on them.
Hey, busy business owner. If you've spent any amount of time online studying business, you've probably heard at least ten times that your business needs a blog. But I'm not here to tell you what you already know. What I'm here to do is convince you to start a blog RIGHT NOW. Don't think it should be pushed to the top of your priority list? I disagree.
You know what inspires you, or at least what needs to happen in order for you to be inspired. What do I mean by that? I know that I will never be inspired on a busy day when I’m surrounded by people. Being an introvert, I thrive when I’m alone and the house is quiet. But having a 2 year, those moments are few and far between. So when I want to be inspired, I get a babysitter. I have sisters in town so I have some free options. But when I can’t get childcare, I take my son out to find some inspiration with me! That might look like going on a walk together, going to a bookstore with a play area so he can mess around while I look at books.
