How to build an online community that will do WAY MORE for your brand than colors + fonts

Don’t be another fish in the sea.

Hey, blogger friend- did you know that when you start a blog, the likelihood of you being the only person who has a blog within your niche is quite slim? You probably knew that. I’m not trying to scare you, though, and I’m not trying to make you change your niche. But what I do what to try to make you do is be different.

But how can you do that?

Not everyone is the super creative type who always comes up with outside-the-box ideas. That’s ok! You don’t even need to. There are proven methods that work with will make your brand stand out from the rest, even if you’re not doing anything crazy or unheard of.

When bloggers and website owners think about establishing a brand, they often focus heavily on logos, color palettes, aesthetics, and layouts of their website. But I’m here to tell you that those things are good, and needed, but they will only take you so far. You might use really pretty on photos that will get someone from your audience to click and read your post. They might even sign up for your email list if they find you helpful. But what is it that will make them keep coming back, viewing you as a resource, and telling their friends to check you out?

One word, my friends: COMMUNITY.

Building a community around your brand is one of the best ways you make readers fall in love with your website and content and keep the same people coming back for more and raving about how helpful you are. Communities are an awesome place to let your readers know that you’re not just trying to sell a product or get another pageview; but you’re actually trying to solve their specific problems within your niche and you’re interested in creating an environment where they can find answers, even if they don’t necessarily come from you. As a community creator myself, I love sharing advice and helping those who ask for it in my Facebook group for other website called Living the Sweet Wife. But what makes me even more proud is when a community member takes a lesson they learned from my website- or even somewhere else- and shares that information with another, completely without any influence from me!

But just telling your audience to talk to each other isn’t what builds a community.

Nope. You might be helpful alright, you might even be extremely present and available to answer questions and provide helpful resources. But what’s to keep them involved with your brand after they get their freebie. Why should they want to keep opening emails from you or participate in social media threads that you initiate?
